Greetings My Brothers and Sisters,

Plans are underway for the 2010 Region IV Training Conference and Council Meeting to be held on May 13-16, 2010, at the Jackson Marriott, 200 East Amite Street, in Jackson, Mississippi. The theme is Preparing Individuals: Know Your Rights, Change Your Game Plan.

The participation of all chapters in the Region is greatly needed and encouraged. The Conference Planning Committee has planned an enriching and informative session of workshops for federal, state, and local government as well as private industry employees. The Special Events Committee has diligently planned a delightful weekend for everyone’s enjoyment.

 

We look forward to seeing each of you at the 2010 Conference.

WORKSHOPS

This conference will offer a focused environment to bring together a diversity of ideas to resolve problems and promote a healthy, safe, and progressive society. Our workshop presenters are Federal, State, and Local Government Employees, Toastmasters, and other professionals. Conference workshops planned include Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Consumer Protection, Labor Relations, Public Speaking, Officer Leadership, Retirement, Estate Planning, Social Security, PERS (State Retirement), and Records Management.

HOTEL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

A block of rooms has been reserved at Jackson Marriott - Downtown, 200 East Amite Street, Jackson, MS, 39201. Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-256-9194. Room rates are $79.00 single/double occupancy plus 11% state and local tax and $.75 occupancy tax. Reservations must be made on or before Tuesday, April 13, 2010. After that date, those rooms not reserved will be released from the block. Parking is $5 per day.

Guaranteed check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 12:00 noon. Cancellation by 6:00 p.m. on day of arrival is the responsibility of the registrant.
